Cathy Marston took up the direction of the Bern:Ballett in August 2007.

The Bern:Ballett’s first program is currently playing at the Stadttheater Bern. It includes Hans Van Manen’s Concertante, Doug Varone’s Of The Earth Far Below and Cathy Marston’s Firebird.

The Bern:Ballett will perform Marston’s Ghosts as well as creations by Marston, Hofesh Shechter, Alexander Ekman and Teresa Rotemberg later in the season.

Cathy Marston will create a new, full-length ballet based on Charles Dicken’s novel A Tale Of Two Cities for Northern Ballet Theatre which will premiere at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds, on the 31st August 2008, followed by a UK tour. The music is specially commissioned by Dave Maric.
