‘Marston has assembled an excellent team to breathe kinetic life into Ibsen’s plot. Although a couple of the characters are only talked about in the play, it makes sense for Marston and the dramaturg Edward Kemp to flesh them out in a wordless, dance-based performance in which past and present intermingle.
The show’s production values are high. Dave Maric's original score, played live, makes effective use of viola, cello, harp, marimba and bass clarinet. Subtly supplemented by electronics, the music gives the dance its pulse.
Marston and her colleagues’ talents are…intelligently applied... a handsome chamber piece.’
